i dont think ive seen anyone in portland talk about this on twitter, if youre dealing with smoke getting into the house and dont have a box fan filter or other stuff, figure out which rooms are smokiest and put out water. science happens and toxic particles are drawn into water.
(dont ask me what the science is.) when my family was piss poor in fire country CA we would do this and fill up the bathtub. the more water (the more surface area actually!) the better. it takes hours but when smoke hangs around for days/weeks it makes a huge difference.
tons of water by windows, by doors, and if you have any fans run them, ceiling room or box. air circ!
hydrate, run humidifiers, and if you dont have a humidifier just leave a pot boiling on the stove.
oh, and if your pet has still water, switch it out LITERALLY every 2 hours.

OH and some people are fond of putting out wet towels n such, those work well in front of fans but you dont want to use a thick bath towel that you wont be sad to part with. try to prioritize shop towels n rags
i feel a little silly doing a promo here, but i make comics and just released a new one about the west coast fires. half of proceeds are going to the warm springs reservation to help them fight the lionshead fire, check it out if you can! https://twitter.com/heartseeeker/status/1304932734729551872?s=20
