In understanding the leading of God, we need to define 2 terms; Consecration and Surrender.

Consecration is the dedication to the service and worship of a deity.

Surrender means to yield to the possession or power of someone.

Concerning God's leading, we need to answer this questions;
- Are you listening?
- Do you really want to be led?

Not everyone is interested in God's leading. They are not as interested as they claim to be. They only want it when it aligns with their own desires.

When your heart is already set in your own ways, when God speaks, you'll hear the wrong thing.

In the realm of the spirit, it is the position of your heart that'll determine if the frequency you receive will be intelligible.

Divine leading always functions with 2 presuppositions;

- That God's time is better.
- That God's way is better.

If you don't believe these 2 things, you're not ready to be led.
Divine leading is first about TRUST.

● GOD'S TIME

Like planting a seed, it requires time to grow. You have to wait.
There's something God has ordained for your future and it will remain in the future no matter how much you whine.

The question is, are you going to trust God's timing?

There's a process to life and God has a timing for your life. Trust his timing and methods.

● GOD'S WAY
Things may not always turn out the way you envisage. Joseph is a perfect example.
You must be convinced that God is JIREH, he is providential.

The so called inconsistencies in your life, will still find you where God will have you be. Choose to trust God.

A keyword in divine leading is Consecration.

Jesus exemplified this at Gethsemane.
Despite the pain he was going to experience, he said "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; NEVERTHELESS not as I will, but as You will.”

Make no mistake, the fact that it is God's will does not mean it will be easy.

If you don't master Consecration, even your divine time will become longer.
Consecration helps you prepare for God's plan.

Consecration says "I don't have any other option, it is Jesus or nothing".
Learn to trust God.

Many people already have a plan for their lives and then they present it to God for endorsement.
Learn to trust God's timing and his way.

In 1Kings 22, we see an interesting story of The king of Israel, Micaiah and Jehoshaphat.
This is a classic story of people wanting God's leading to be tailored to their agenda.

Trust God's leading and his timing.

Say this: I trust God's leading and his timing.

1Peter5:7 instructs us to cast all our cares upon God. Do this.

An anxious heart will never be a discerning heart. Cast all your cares on God and trust him.
