I’m doing my own Horror Versus (trademark pending ) tonight’s matchup Bad Seed (1956) v. Bad Seed (2018). I have a suspicion the elder is going to smoke the new one without even trying. #OGhorror #rhodavsemma

I had almost forgotten the brilliant performance of Eileen Heckart, she is only in two scenes and she is stealing the show.

It’s interesting that both principals see through Emma and Rhoda. But, the 2018 version loses points for the grade school being located near a cliff.

I forgot to finish this thread and deem a winner. Bad Seed (1956) wins, although I have to say 2018 was much better than I expected it to be, but I have questions. We had an interesting debate in the 1956 version with the nature vs nurture to explain Rhoda.

There is no explanation or rationale for Emma. And, even though it was a nice cameo from Rhoda as a child psychiatrist, she is terrible at her job. Emma easily fools her. Overall, though not a bad film at all.
