Cargo: Not a Sci-Fi Film
A Thread for @AratiKadav

This is not a review of the film, just some questions that I have about Sci-Fi world-building in Cargo.
I respect the artistic choice of the director to choose the things that they did. I love the plot and the theme of accepting death as an experience. However, I just need to point out inconsistencies in the terribly imagined world. My inner nerd cries. Ok, let's go.
Spaceships are supposed to be the epitome of efficiency. Yet, CRTs are used everywhere, those are monster energy hogs. Also, What does the peace treaty b/w humans and rakshas have to do with space? What happened before the Space age?
Also, Prahasta is a senile old man, who has no regard for Space debris. Who dumps the trash into space?
I understand it's supposed to show the incompetent bureaucracy and budget cuts but it's your Flagship mission. Who's funding the rakshas? What do humans get in return? What's the PDTS' business model? Do Rakshas live on another planet?
When they put the ship into low power mode, the small objects start floating but the characters don't. All mass is equally affected by gravity or lack thereof. My boi just chillin, not strapped or none.
In the Next scene, the spaceship floor is a mess probably due to power retuning and the floating objects falling back to the ground. Why isn't the crew prepared for this? Do they not velcro it to any surface? How is the ex-pilot that disorganized? They are trained astronauts.
Also, Why is Yuvishka dragging her stuff on the floor when the Gravity is artificially created on the ship.
A nod to Ghostbusters, I like it.
The year is 2074 but look at those bezels. Or is that an ugly ass case? What functionality does it offer? How inconsistent is the technology on the ship?
If my boi Prahasta can drink coffee like a normal grouch then why is the food in tubes. Tubes are intended for low gravity ships. But as it has been established that artificial Gravity is possible. Standard packing would suffice, no?
lmao what happened to the sun?
Also, How does Bhavesh is getting a call from the other side? How does communication works?
What is this behavior pooja? If you're going to remove the memories anyway then why not just tell him everything. Such stiff bone, Prahasta. Sorry for deviating from world-building but wanted to point it out. Also LCD Tab on the ship, burn the CRTs
Are those ATM machines?
TUBES
lmao why, you're going to confiscate it and dump it in the Space anyway, buddy. Go, Space Trashers.
jatt boi cockblocking from beyond, nice
Mah Boi is terribly weak at math. "Two astronauts trained to handle chaotic souls are NOT better than one (who is already injured btw)"- Prahasta, apparently.
That's ground, you can't shock yourself through that hole.
If the guy died of electric shock which would mean, electricity disrupted the nervous system which in turn stopped the heart and the person died of oxygen deprivation in the brain. So does she heal the actual damaged part or just heals whatever was closest to the cause of death?
yeah, space trash.
The film changed the tab design mid-film or was that an ugly ass case earlier?
That's stolen space trash.
The blue lines aren't in the center and it's infuriating. Snap function, it exists for a reason.
Overall a solid 5.
