Here are the top 10 things I’ve learned as a husband over the past 5 years:

*A thread 🧵*

1. She doesn’t want you to fix every problem, sometimes she just wants to vent
2. The more you pour into her the more radiant she becomes
3. Over communicate, she can’t read your mind
4. There’s power in her criticism, she can help you refine your blind spots
5. Give each other space, everyone needs their own outlet to be their best self
6. Being “right” is a temporary pleasure with an extremely high cost
7. If you say something she’s going to hold you to it, even if you were just brainstorming
8. She needs your consistency & conviction more than you realize
9. Never let things become too routine, pause acknowledge & pivot when they do
10. Even as a black man I have privileges that she does not as a black woman, be sensitive to that

Marriage takes enough work as is, so hopefully this helps other couples (or singles) as they embark on that journey ✨
