Why I think policy makers have the responsibility to take #SARSCoV2 serious & protect all citizens: If you let this virus spread, protection will become a luxury, that you can buy yourself if you are privileged: go by car, work from home, have your child looked after at home 1/4
If you do not have the resources for this, you cannot afford to shield yourself, you need to work in an exposed environment, have to accept exposure every day. This was strongly seen in the US with much more infections in underprivileged. We will see this here too. 2/4
To protect everyone from a new diseases, with still many unknowns, we need everyone to be safe, thus we need the right public health decisions (even if unpopular) and we need to adapt them. It‘s not easy and it will cost a price 3/4
The face of this pandemic is constantly changing, and we need to adapt to new scientific findings. And just because something is possible again (e.g. gatherings, indoor activities) it does not mean that it is safe. 4/4
