Great to see detailed examples now on Kickstart webpage for how govt will assess whether jobs are additional, and the employability support for young ppl. Both are key.
Missing piece tho is a clear statement and examples on job quality... 1/ https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-a-grant-through-the-kickstart-scheme
At moment, no Kickstart criteria or guidance on quality of jobs. It's really needed. I.e. how jobs will be suitable for ppl who've been unemployed; that you'll have a line mgr, support, development opportunities, varied work; access to health, training; etc. 2/
Risk if we don't have clear criteria on job quality is that when the job goes wrong, the employer will blame the young person; the young person will blame the employer; and everyone will blame Kickstart.
And the young person will be back unemployed and probably even worse off 3/3
