Why did I start @BlackInSciComm? Black people are not born social justice warriors. I want to talk about science and chill 99.9% of the time. Instead, because y'alls people don't know how to act, we often have to use our SciComm platforms to address racial trauma & oppression. 1/
While other folks had the mental capacity to pursue their own goals in their own way, those dealing with trauma have setbacks. Anxiety. Imagine not feeling like your life matters and then trying to pursue a career in a field where you're underrepresented. That's adversity

#BlackInSciComm is an intentional space focused on helping Black people find their voices in science communication w no distractions. This is a one stop shop for getting the resources needed to move their careers forward in their desired direction, and celebrate Black voices. 3/
