Not to slag off people who read non-fiction books 25/8, BUT I fear (some of) you lot lack analytical skills. To read a piece of fiction of high literary merit and conclude that you’ve learnt nothing is scary scenes.
I’m convinced that extracting knowledge from fiction helps you form opinions, whilst reading non-fiction is simply the absorption of someone else’s opinion, which (some of) you later go on to regurgitate in a half baked way.
Now I’m not judging, but if you’re simply repeating what you’ve read then..? Are you smart or can your brain just retain information? Serious question, what is the meaning of this behaviour?!
