Started online course "Fall in love with Taiwan" as wanted to learn some Taiwanese vocab. Week 1 introduced us to this creepy German guy Mai He-Jie who hit on & asked for Wu Hong-Yu's number & address on first meeting. W2 he tries to buy her a bubble tea but his card's declined.

I may be delayed in realizing the name of the course ties in with this bizarre narrative as an enduring theme. This is run by a legit Taiwanese uni too.

Week 3 has some big developments! Wu Hong-Yu and Mai He-Jie now have each other's numbers/Line. Hong-Yu asks He-Jie on a date and *this* is his internal thought process. Genuinely can't tell if the course is romanticising this very real kind of behaviour or just super self-aware

Regardless, He-Jie is no fool. Hong-Yu is pretty over the moon at the chance to go to the cinema with him. Those mind tricks must be paying off.
