OK, time for the PR/Content Creator thread my little chili babies! #GamingPR https://twitter.com/maria__giesela/status/1303840347886415872
Like a lot of you, I am a content creator as well, so I've been on the receiving end of working with PR, and now that I've been on both sides, I feel slightly all-knowing and powerful. #GamingPR
Content Creator outreach, while one of the more fun and rewarding parts of the PR strategy for a game roll-out, it's also the most time-consuming. It requires a lot of research, digging for information, knowing games that are similar to the one you're rolling out. #GamingPR
I'm going to use @MerQueenJude (one of my faves to work with) as an example. They had created content for Ooblets after receiving a code and when BFF rolled around, a queer narrative dating game where you adopt dogs, I knew that they would be a great fit for that. #GamingPR
For one, Jude's bio is a PR coordinator's dream:
- it states their preferred streaming platform
- preferred pronouns
- AND THEIR EMAIL #GamingPR

I get wanting to have witty/fun bios, but then you can't be upset if your email is nowhere to be found and you see others with an opportunity that falls in line with your content interest. #GamingPR
For Example: Only having your email accessible on YouTube behind captcha can stop your blessings because guess what, YouTube puts a limit on how many emails you can access in a day.
A workaround: add it to your About section #GamingPR

Soooooo content creator signups. We still vet those. We vet all requests for codes. But ESPECIALLY for signups. So it's best not to lie. For example, in July, we had a "creator" sign up and say they had 1,000-5,000 subscribers. They had 2 and hadn't streamed in a year. #GamingPR
Another note on requesting codes: if the game is not in your wheelhouse, don't request the code unless you have plans for content. Which leads to me to my next point: give PR a heads up on the content you have planned for the code and then send a follow up after. #GamingPR
Back to the angel that is @MerQueenJude, after their first stream of BFF, they emailed over links to tweets promoting their stream and links to their stream as well. ALONG WITH METRICS! SQUEE AT THE ADORABLENESS GUYS! #GamingPR
And not only did they stream at launch, but they did follow-up streams. Which is a big deal! Especially for indie games. And created specific clips to draw others into playing the game. #GamingPR https://twitter.com/MerQueenJude/status/1299108496374484992?s=20
So to wrap this up because it's a Friday afternoon:
- add your email to your profiles (make it easy to find)
- be truthful and honest about the content you will create
- don't take a code just to have a code
- follow-up with PR after; it looks good for later #GamingPR

In my short time with @popagendaco, I've enjoyed working with soooo many of you creators and hope we get to work together more in the future. See you in your inbox very soon! #GamingPR
Note: I asked @MerQueenJude permission to share their metric graphic, thank you so much for letting me do so!
