Tell Me Why is a great game but it's filled with bullshit cop propaganda.

"Here's some cops! Alyson likes them! They're nice. Here's a lesbian cop! You like queer representation, right? So you like this cop! This cop likes pie. He's quirky!" https://twitter.com/StopTweetingMia/status/1301654895557095427
We spend 30 minutes of chapter 3 at a police station just... hanging out with cops.

Who is that for? Cops make people uncomfortable. I'm supposed to have a pleasant conversation with Officer Riggs while he complains about immigrants for some reason? Fuck off.
The game sets up some really compelling drama then takes these embarrassing nonsequiters to show you some folksy small town cops just being nice and folksy.

It had no effect on the plot in this chapter. It just happens.
The queer trans male lead hates cops and every time you express that you're penalized for it. If you don't forgive the cop character for doing fucked up corrupt shit TO YOU then you break your bond with your sister and she likes you less than if you're nice to Chief Eddie.
I said this last week but it deserves to be restated.

TRANS PEOPLE SHOULD HATE COPS.

If a gay trans man hates cops, there's probably a reason. Tyler IS given a good reason to hate Eddie's guts, but he's painted as irrational and shitty if he doesn't lick the boot.
Why would you tell this story this way if you know anything about the history of police brutality against queer folks?

Especially right now. It's the most tone deaf bullshit. I'm sick of forced cop/queer solidarity in media. It's so common.
Tell Me Why has so much good stuff going for it but this left the biggest impression on me. It added nothing to the story and detracted a lot.

Fuck cops and fuck media that tries to endear us to them without understanding the way that makes us feel as an audience.
