Pickme feminists will “all lives matter” feminism, but not to benefit marginalised women. Their fight for lgbt rights will begin and end with males. They will fight against racism but only for black males and what benefits them ( abolishing prisons/police).
Will only speak about intersex issues to derail conversations on sex-based oppression. They’ll never speak on intersex females and how they don’t appreciate the appropriation of “assigned female/male at birth” They will discuss ableism, but not the high rates of abuse disabled-
women face. They’ll only discuss that “sex workers” are needed because that’s only way disabled men will have sex. They will only discuss indigenous rights, not to discuss the high death/rape rates of indigenous women, but to discuss “third gender”
So when pickme feminists all lives matter feminism, they’re clearly telling us that the focus need to shift from women to men, a group worth defending.
Their support for marginalised women is superficial and can be revoked if the women use words or describes her oppression in a manner they don’t agree with.
They support Muslims, but only what benefits Muslim men. They bully/shame and try to silence Muslim/ex Muslim women who wish to discuss the oppression they’ve faced. They ignore Muslim women when they say that self-id will make it difficult for them use public spaces.
Their class analysis/capitalism discussions are always centred on poor men. They will never talk about how women have a higher rate of illiteracy, poor women will suffer the most if prisons/police are abolished, or how they’re often exploited and pushed to do dangerous jobs
how in countries that have legalised prostitution, poor women are told their benefits will be cut if they don’t enter “sex work” it’s never about poor women in third world countries who are fighting for single sex spaces
When discussing mental health. It’s never on vulnerable mental ill women who are being forced to share spaces with or have intimate care done by males. It’s never the rise in female suicides globally, and how female socialisation causes us to be “considerate” even after death.
How women/girls try to commit suicide more than men, but because we don’t do it so violently, it’s push aside to focus on men and their feelings.
