Scientific innovations require great effort to translate. The best people to do that are the PhDs that brought those discoveries into the world. One of the single best ways for that to happen is through deep tech entrepreneurship. 3/
But there's a problem:
It’s much harder for PhD-led startups to raise VC funding because the world of PhDs & VCs are disconnected. A lot of funds meet a team and say “I love the team, love the product, love the market, but I don’t know how to think about the SCIENCE”. 4/

VCs not feeling comfortable understanding the science that powers a startup kills investments. Founders need to be great communicators, but some things are hard to grasp without years of advanced study.
