night 1: slept on normal mattress, but ditched pillow for resting my head on my arms. lots of in and out of sleep. my arm get& #39;s tired, and neck get& #39;s a little tired.
not horrible, but not a good nights sleep

night 2: used a towel folded four times as a pillow, still on matress. Much better than night before, still noticably different than normal sleep, but solidly "okay night"
night 3: same as night 2. Gonna be more adventurous tomorrow
night 4: first no mattress night! slept from 12-7am, then went to go sleep on the couch 7-9:30
got soooome sleep, there wasn& #39;t acute discomfort, but there was a clear sense of not being able to completely relax into the ground

night 5: same setup as last night. sometime in the early morning i swapped the towel for a thin pillow. again, after normal wake up hours I felt like another 2h of sleep on gf& #39;s mattress
sleep *feels* worse in some sense, but also I& #39;m not noticing super big crashes during the day

defs noticing this https://twitter.com/ben_r_hoffman/status/1303736494620893184?s=20">https://twitter.com/ben_r_hof...
when i use my arm as a pillow in this position, there& #39;s a lot of sensation in my bicep. at first I thought this was a stretch/flexibility thing, but the sensation goes away sleeping this was with a pillow under the arm, or just flattening myself against the a wall...
so it seems clear that the uncomfy sensation is not "by arm is being stretched" but more my biceps are tense and I& #39;m only noticing when my weight is on them
not too practiced in letting go of tension in my arms

night 6: blanket on ground + thin pillow. eh? my neck felt a bit more tense in the morning, but went away quick. it& #39;s very hard to tell the quality of my sleep. the floor doesn& #39;t feel *right* but.... it doesn& #39;t feel *bad*
maybe I& #39;ll spend the day alternating tween soft and hard

@ben_r_hoffman any advice in relation to arms falling asleep? this feels different from the tension aspect. my gut says "you just get used to it after a while without doing anything in particular" https://twitter.com/natural_hazard/status/1305917297891082240?s=20">https://twitter.com/natural_h...
Night 7: slept on matress, no pillow
