New primatologist followers. We should all have open access to knowledge, so I compiled all my documents accrued over a few years of working with primates & put them in a single location that is easily searchable. From behavior to diets, here it is: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0Byj9j4o6lHytM1BKTGRBWkJmRUU
If you have something related to #primatology that is NOT in the folders and would like to add to to it, please dm me for my email address bc the more we can access without a paywall, the better.
Highlights of #opensource #primateinfo folder include:
Enrichment device manuals from multiple primate labs. Have captive primates' lives to enrich? Crowdfund 4 supplies, let the keepers pick what they want, and invite community members to come and build. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0Byj9j4o6lHytNGVLTzVrTC1FeXM
#opensource #primateinfo highlight:
Have captive primates to cook for? Try the recipes in this folder.

I want to be clear...
Providing #captiveprimates with NOVEL #enrichment on a REGULAR BASIS is the basis for providing your charges an excellent #qualityoflife It should NOT BE OPTIONAL. Here is the info. Use it.
Also, there's green beans in that watermelon!
If your #captiveprimates have no #enrichmentplan in place, their lives as not as great as they could be. Peruse through the manuals here and create one for your facility ASAP:

#Captiveprimates should be trained to willingly help with their basic #husbandry and #medical needs. The #PrimateTrainingEnrichmentWorkshop #PTEW was a wonderful way to learn the basics of behavior modification thru positive reinforcement. Here it is:

Those are the basics for a better life for #captiveprimates, and once enacted, #primateresearchers can move on to bigger and better #behavioral #cognitive research experiments that will both #enrich the #primates and broaden our #knowledge.
Be excellent to all primates.

Don't see your chosen subject area and would like a folder added? Dm me and let me know... I will gladly spend some free time procuring journal articles and loading them up.
Thank You @StaceyTecot for submitting your journal article to the #primatology google drive:
" #socialbehaviour and #gutmicrobiota in #RedBelliedLemurs in search of the role of immunity in the #evolution of #sociality" Find it in the google drive folder at the top of this thread.
Thank You again @StaceyTecot for your addition to the #primatology google drive:
"Faecal glucocorticoid metabolite profiles in diademed #sifakas increase during seasonal fruit
scarcity with interactive effects of age/sex class and #habitatdegradation" #opensource
Just spent my lunch hour downloading #primatology #journalarticles to increase the diversity of the folder. My first subject matter was: #LEMURS. I didn't work with them much and @StaceyTecot got the ball rolling with #lemuridae. More than 40 articles have been uploaded so far.
