oomf sent me this and not to stir the pot but like... The song has nothing to do with covid? Why are you using covid as a way to make a pop song about disco dancing seem like a big activist move? Why is a deadly pandemic being used as a marketing shtick?
dont even get me started on the itaewon stuff, "covid is a blessing cus it gave me free time to release my mixtape" and now "covid HAD to happen for us to release a random pop song guys!!!!" my god just release your music. just RELEASE UR MUSIC why do u have to do this
mental illnesses and covid are not just opportunities for you to market your generic pop songs. If you had never implied your colleagues were "sellouts" for making english music you wouldnt NEED to justify an english song. ESPECIALLY not with covid
these are the lyrics for the song what tf does ANY of this have to do with covid. Its so fucking insensitive. WHY are you using a deadly pandemic that has cost hundreds of thousands of lives to market your song when the song has NOTHING to do with it
at least when they used mental health as a marketing gimmick the songs kind of had uplifting messages. I can see how someone would feel a bit better. This? This is a song about disco dancing. WHY are you associating it with covid. WHY are you using covid as a marketing ploy.
Im sorry but after seeing how they used mental health and disabilities to market music that was the sound equivalent of "uwu just smile and buy my album so u feel better" its kind of fucked to see them pull the same bs, just with a deadly pandemic
i really dont understand why they cant just Release a Song, why ALL of it has to be some kind of BIG ACTIVIST MEANINGFUL STATEMENT when it really really isnt and it just makes the whole ordeal look insensitive and performative.
If they use part of the profits to donate to covid related charities I would kind of understand but afaik they arent. they literally just tacked on covid bcus mr Named June doesnt wanna feel like a hypocrite for dropping an eng song after callin others sellouts for doing the same
