This is a good tweet and a really good week for Xbox.

If you've followed me for a bit you know how I've done some threads on Xbox's future strategy about removing barriers and friction to reach a broader audience.

But one thing not mentioned is next gen games.

Quick thread- https://twitter.com/Xbox/status/1303860752575377408
Xbox has ticked every box in terms of hardware, pricing, services, ecosystem etc...

But it seemingly doesn't have next gen content that turns the Series X into a must buy. Because those games are still available on One S/X, PS4 etc...

Not to mention the Halo delay.
That's the one key difference in the PS vs Xbox debate. PS5 has defined next gen content and experiences. Xbox hasn't right now.

Enthusiasts who want top end graphics / performance will upgrade to next gen regardless, but most can keep their old console and play the same games.
I'm not forgetting Game Pass here ofc. Because I think that is the one killer app and entry point into the Xbox ecosystem that can offset what I've talked about above.

Xbox needs to focus more on communicating the value that Game Pass provides (which they are doing).
Game Pass is essentially both the content and service for next gen Xbox consoles.

I think Xbox need to show more of the games and benefits from Game Pass, including EA titles, show people what exactly they get for $15 a month.

That'll help tick the content box for them.
As above, Xbox has ticked the boxes on everything else in a way that makes the Series X | S much more attractive than the Xbox One ever was

For those looking to jump into next gen / console gaming, the Xbox ecosystem is now more accessible than ever, when compared to PlayStation
