Today is National Suicide Prevention Day
Our work is to make the world a safe place for people to exist, focus on healing &destigmatizing talking about mental health

Individual resilience is important, it personalizes solutions & it takes the focus off of what we all can do
Mental health issues are often invisible to Others, and even to ourselves. Ask those around you- “how is your mental health?” - this is how we destigmatize, and also let others know we are a safe space
Suicide prevention is:
Living wages, universal healthcare, access to mental health services, reproductive justice, dismantling the carceral system, transformative justice, and sexual wellness and sex positivity
Suicide prevention is:
Ending oppression- racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, classism, and body shaming - all undermine our mental health; you cannot work to improve mental health or prevent death by suicide without addressing social and systemic violence
Suicide prevention is:
Dismantling toxic consumerism:the idea worth is tied to how productive we are-the institutions/systems that tell us: “you aren’t ok as you are”. Who we deem as of value &what we call “success”, either empowers or devalues &harms those that cannot keep up
Suicide prevention is:
“Community Care”- we ARE responsible for the needs, health, &welfare of everyone around us. Individualism is the problem! Treat Others better! We prevent suicide by not trolling or posting hate on social media. Not shaming or mocking differences
Suicide prevention is:
Working less, and resting more. Far too many of us are over worked, stressed, and disconnected. We need more rest, and less productivity. We need to center Selfcare, Joy, Fun and Leisure
