If you want to react to a derogatory comment but ensure that you do not end up promoting it then this is what you should do.
1. Don't reply, comment or like the post
2. Don't quote on your timeline

3. Post the screenshot with a comment
4. Don't tag the handle

The rules of engagement is different for a Twitter Video. There is a way to pick up a video without promoting the user.
1. Click the down arrow on the right top corner of the tweet.
2. Select the option "embed tweet"
3. New window opens
4. Copy the Embed code
5. Paste it anywhere

Now write a tweet and then paste the code below. In this way, you can only pick up the video from the tweet without boosting the user. The user's name will appear below the video to show who originally posted it. But it won't get the user any benefit.
