A few weeks ago I was given the huge opportunity to work on @TheRealKano video ‘Teardrops’ off of his incredible album Hoodies All Summer. The video gives voice to the hundreds of named and unnamed Black people who have died at the hands of the police in the UK.

(Thread)
Since 1990 over 100 Black people have died during or following police contact. 0 police have been prosecuted for murder or manslaughter. Despite several rulings of ‘unlawful killing.’

The justice system is built on the impunity of its officers. This video is not only important in highlighting what happens in the UK, it also urges us to be less American-centric in our analysis and outrage of the over-policing, brutality and ultimately murder of Black people.

In memory of both the named and unnamed lives taken by the police. All of whom were never granted justice.
I am beyond proud to have been apart of this and to be able to contribute to something as important as this. Not only have I learned a lot about the individual cases, but also the complexities of campaigning for justice in a system that protects officers not us.
Thank you to @TheRealKano for using your platform to continually highlight our realities and for entrusting me to be apart of this. Thank you Aneil Karia, Nat Baring and Kevin Chemuka for giving me the opportunity to contribute to such a poignant video.
Lastly, if you want to contribute to supporting families and legal fees but cannot afford to, please share, view and boost this video. All proceeds go to @INQUEST_ORG who support families through legal procedures.
