Meet the beautiful NS 4700
This will now become a thread for my favorite Dutch locomotives!

The NS 4700 was 1/2 (as far as I know) imports to the Netherlands shortly after WW2 for a smooth reconstruction.
50 locomotives were imported, 15 of the 4000 series and 35 of the 4700 series.
This was the strongest steam locomotive NS had at the time before diesels took over.

Next up (and my personal favorite) the NS 4000 the second Swedish imported locomotive to be sent to the Netherlands after WW2.
Unlike the 4700, 4000 was an express locomotive. (Fast!)
Had a cone shaped smokebox door (until it was replaced with the NS 4300/5000 smokebox doors)

The 4000 with 4300/5000 smokebox door, next to the 3700
Fun fact: The series 4700 and 4000 shared the same tender type!

The NS 3600, this thread's first Dutch in origin locomotive.
This was an express steamer nicknamed "The Zeppelin" for their cone shaped smokebox door.
The cab of some early locomotives used to be streamlined, but were changed after changing fireboxes to its Belpaire firebox.
