Lectures started earlier this week.

I’m NOT a fan of online education.

However, I’ve noticed my lecturers sound so deflated and it’s obvious lecturing to a camera is not an easy task.

It’s good for healthcare students to look out for lecturers too so here’s some ideas:
1 - Tutors can’t always see you so, If you think the topic is a bit heavy going, don’t be afraid to suggest a break, it helps the students struggling to keep up to catch up.

When lecturers can’t see you they wont pick up on non-verbal clues like a sea of confused faces!
2 - During breaks get out of your chair and make a brew, take the bins out. Dance like no one is watching etc ... Moving is good for your body and your mind!

3 - Make an extra effort to join in chat/questions and let lecturers see what you understand/find complex/difficult.
4 - Email lecturers with questions (not too many) and be patient for replies, they will come eventually but the no of emails has increased exponentially so be succinct and polite.

5 - If you think a lecturer is doing a good job or has helped you in some way - tell them!
6 - As much as you might dislike e-learning (as I do!) try to recognise that it’s incredibly difficult to present topics without any direct f2f interaction so be considerate - find ways to work with peers - it’s a great way to learn & helps reduce emails to tutors.

7 - Be kind!
