''Life Writing: From Rousseau to Facebook''
- my experiences and thoughts on this class, a thread
Class 1: i truly didnt know what to expect from this class as i have 0 experience in writing or reading much literature and honestly i ✨still dont know for sure✨ but im excited
i just know im gonna have to write a lot and be creative but giving me complete freedom is too much for my ADHD i cannot make decisions pls
we talked about vagabonding tho which appearantly is something like wandering through life and honestly that entire concept felt very close to home
session 2: oh my god i LOVED this class?? we talked about the concept of travelers/vagabonds/nomads and how they dont want to conform to society and live in a civilization and people who want to live their dreams instead of rationality it was incredible
when i was younger people always said i didn't have realistic future goals and im too much of a dreamer and ''thats not how society works'' and i've always had an issue with that so now it finally makes sense.
i still don't understand the concept of a writer's cabin tho. the romanticization of having to be alone and lonely in the middle of the woods to write is something i'll have to look into more i think.
session 3: this entire class was about interpreting a painting. if there is one thing i ~suck~ at, its interpreting paintings
