Consider this my informal breakdown thread of Neon J from #NoStraightRoads !
While i have no intention at this moment to make this cosplay, others might. The purpose is to break his design down into understandable pieces and give others ideas on how to approach this build!
As informal it may not be fleshed out as quickly as my Eve thread is. I will type up clear notes in a little while. Please thank @TWISTEDKEY for inspiring me to make another nsr breakdown thread!
You may bookmark this so you can access it when its updated if you miss the tweet!
Okie doki, this thread will also be filled with notes as i dissect my sketches for ya. I will try to be as spoiler free as possible with refs as well!
I wanted to guve comparison ti these 2 screenshots so we can all understand Neon J's suit is white! But unlike the portrait, his
model in game sports white leds/reflective material. When not lit up, these strips look black. You could always put in color changing led strips if you are confident in your light work skill, however those who aren't, you can always opt for EL Wire or reflective material to
get the same effect! I think it'd be easiest to get a red sleeveless turtleneck(tryna keep you from overheating since he's essentially wearing a turtleneck with a suit) and then to draft his suit jacket pattern from a blazer or suit jacket if you have one! Or you can buy one if
you wish. Personally, i like the sewing practice so i can become better and would go the route of drafting a pattern from one of my fitted blazers, but this is YOUR COSTUME, you should be comfy first and foremost, keep that in mind ok ^^
MOVING ALONG:
A couple ideas on how to approach the monitor head! If i get inspired to do so this weekend, i might take a crack at it to better show you all what i mean!
Updating to say i will be using white stretch pvc if i am not satisfied with the light blue gray selection! So stay tuned, i will be using the pants pattern i made for my Lio Fotia cosplay to make NJ's!
