Long thread of me talking and also TLOU2 spoilers

it’s ok to dislike Abby from #TLOU2. even if it’s solely because she killed Joel.

I guess following a lot TLOU fans on twitter i was kind of surprised to see more support towards Abby then i have on other forums. (1/?)

and i’ve seen to my surprise a lot of people bashing others for not liking Abby which kind of surprised me. i think there is plenty reasons to be fair to not like her.

but i also see a lot of people bashing abby fans, which i think is also wrong. ultimately, (2/?)

i don’t understand why no one can just agree to disagree on characters, but i guess it’s naive to think that you won’t get fans in a fandom who aren’t willing to bash others who don’t like their bias, or fav.

i don’t dislike her just because she killed joel, i dislike her because i just don’t find her character believable, or likable. or necessary, for that matter.

she gets compared to Joel a lot. and i think she should. i think her, ellie, and joel in my opinion are (4/?)

as bad as each other. but i think a key difference with joel is it took him months with Ellie to “change” or build a relationship with her. where the second game sort of seems to pass off a similar relationship to that, with abby and lev, but in 3 days? (5/?)

it’s just not very believable to me.

also her and ellie are pretty brutal in the game. i don’t think theres one better then the other, or an actual “hero” of the game. i don’t think that was the point;

my understanding of it being a revenge plot was also, the (6/?)

point of the story was to show there are no “good guys.” certainly not in an apocalyptic setting.

Joel was not a “good guy”. he may have did a “good thing” but the bad things out number it.

Abby was not a “good guy.” her saving two scars doesnt (7/?)

change the fact she’s murdered countless others, and also turns on her people so fast (another thing i found sort of unbelievable)

Ellie was not a “good guy.” in her hunt for revenge she ultimately kills innocents to do so.

at this point this thread is getting long and i’m rambling about different points.

i think TLOU2 was lazily written and i honestly think Abby was lazily written. I get what the writers were trying to do with her character, but to me she was an unnecessary (9/?)

add on to further a revenge plot and revenge cycle theme.

and i thought the story was going to be about Ellie, which we were kinda promised?? (10/10)
