THREAD 1/5

I got serious about my body in 6th grade when I went to the doctors for a physical

Nurse came in after taking my weight n said “look who’s been snacking”

I remember being so upset

What did I do when I got home?

I went for my first real jog ever, and continued to jog almost every day for the next year, I watched what I ate n cut out unhealthy foods

Every run was fueled by a desire to prove that nurse wrong n come back a different person

I went back to the doctor a year later,

20lbs lighter and w/ 6-pack abs. But the reaction I got definitely wasn’t the one I was looking for

After taking my weight the next year, the nurse asked my parents to leave the room

She then asked me if I haven’t been eating or been making myself throw up

This made me realize I needed a balance between losing weight but also gaining muscle and staying at a healthy weight

But more importantly it taught me not to train for anyone but myself

I was so caught up in proving a nurse wrong solely bout my weight that I ignored my own goals and didn’t balance my training

Tht nurse was the kickstart to get my fitness journey started, but she also taught me the important lesson to never consume myself w wht others think
