alright i really need to talk about this particular photo. this was the last art ever of bfish / new york sense? it's of eiji with buddy. I feel like this truly gave closure to the story--we no longer have eiji suffering from the pain of banana fish and losing his soulmate
he's doing so much better now. He's a successful photographer, and as you can see in this photo he's able to truly smile without pain behind him. this shows how much Eiji moved on. He finally "let go of ash" (as quoted by Sing) while never forgetting his soulmate. ash taught him-
-that he is worthy, and he is able to change his life for the better. Eiji started off as a lost college student after losing his pole vaulting career, but he found something new to excel in. And he's even happier now. He's moved on, and he finally healed-
-banana fish is indeed, truly a story about healing. About love. About never giving up no matter what. That no matter how hard life gets, how much you have lost, life still goes on. But at the same time, you need to recognize how worthy you are. And how much potential you have-
i think now i realize why i love banana fish so much. In an idealistic sense, it's a story about healing. About persistence, no matter how hard life gets or how much you lose. everyone has potential within them. and we all can develop to become more stronger people
and yes, it can take a lot time for one to develop, to finally get over a painful memory or an internal conflict. It took Eiji seven years to finally heal for the better, but he finally did! this shows that we should never give up in life. No matter what.
aight sorry if i rambled too much, i saw this on my tl and it just reminded me of why eiji okumura is such a special character to me and how HE has grown as a person haha
apologies for the grammar, i typed this in a hurry hkfghc
i read banana fish and garden of light when i felt so lost in my life. I never related to Eiji Okumura so much when he said how he felt like he wasn't worthy, and how ~lost~ he was in his future. But now look at him! I am literally tearing up as I'm writing this right now. I am
so proud of Eiji Okumura. He taught me a lot. I see myself in him. He gives me hope
