Thread: while phonebanking this morning, I convinced an Obama to Trump voter who said he was leaning toward voting Trump again to vote for Biden. 1/
At the beginning of the survey he said the reason he was voting Trump is because he didn't trust the media to report on him fairly so he can't believe all the negative things said about him. 2/
I saw an opening, and told him that the main reason I'm voting for Biden and phonebanking was Trump's family separation policy. 3/
Using Trump's ➡️own words⬅️ that it was a "deterrent" to keep other families from coming here (and I told the guy he could look it up), it was an act of terrorism. I said, "Hurting people to send a message is literally terrorism, and that is really disturbing to me." 4/
He said he's voting for Biden.

Please remember: family separation was a huge issue that turned out the vote in the 2018 midterms, and this administration is STILL brutalizing families seeking asylum. I think if it was brought up more often it could help. 5/5
