Seems like Luiselli is in denial about bourgeois and passing as white. She makes "Mexican wrier" seem like an ethnic group (also what& #39;s Mexican she& #39;s more like Obama grew up allover the world), she asks "what if these refugee kids were white" and never care to address Q!!

There& #39;s that deaf note she makes at the very end of her daughter playing with white paint and saying "so they won& #39;t know we& #39;re Mexicans" or how she had to disclaim to one refugee kid "am not a gringa." This all echoes into her latest novel

Also remembered @prolpo when Luiselli cites the former border control writer. Yeah I know!!!
