1-The Fake Sussex title debate

2-The monarch can bestow title on commoner bc of merit on battlefield/skill in sack, but once granted, it operates under the rules. Removal require an act of Parliament. This virtually never happens & only 4 things like treason, which tend 2 come with other (terminal)consequences

3-If they can be given or withheld on any other basis, if u start “Does holder meet basic standard?” “But is it best person 4 job?”, the whole system falls apart. Better 4 aristo system that chinless idiot make absolute mess of his earldom than right of title 2 EVER be questioned

4- Literally it would require a change in the laws governing peerages and guess who would use all their wealth to lobby against it???
EVERY single wealthy TORY, The entire Aristocracy (more powerful than the Queen), the ROYAL FAMILY, the legal establishment (many are aristos)..
