1/5) Our meeting with @UKRI_News had to be cancelled today. As 15 mins before we were due to start, it became clear that our safeguarding concerns could not be addressed / resolved.

2/5) Concerned by a potential impact on their profession / careers, some individuals wanted to remain anonymous, we were not certain that if UKRI hosted the meeting that the confidentiality of some marginalized Black academics who wanted to take part could be assured.

3/5) @UKRI_News were not willing to join a meeting that we would host or control ss it's not normal practice. UKRI have said that they will look for other ways to address our safeguarding concerns (although we think it would just be easiest if we were able to host the meeting)

4/5) UKRI they will offer alternative dates once a solution is found. I want to make it publicly known that I am still very much keen to talk to UKRI and to address the issues raised. But I won't compromise on safeguarding or put others at risk.
