Wow, you're a journalist? Did you know that a Chinese couple with their 6 months old baby vanished after they befriended Mona and Affandi in Terengganu? Their remains later found dismembered? https://twitter.com/charmainetakagi/status/1303153308471758848
There was also a woman in Klang who came to Affandi and Mona to seek treatment for her facial skin. She later vanished. When Mona and Affandi pointed the police to where they buried her, her body was found dismembered. Her head was never found to this day.
The woman case happened in Klang. There were two young women who also vanished after they become Mona and Affandi's maid. A man named Tahir also vanished after he came to see them frequently.
These people vanished or murdered circa 1980s and 1990s. Arwah Datuk Mazlan was their last victim. I don't know why you want to make Mona and Affandi appear heroic here. Also, family members of the deceased are still breathing. Have some respect.
Mona and Affandi were always on the move, rented houses etc. There are probably victims who were never discovered. They didn't get charged for the other murders because the Datuk Mazlan case was enough to bring them to justice.
Why did they dismember their victims? Think.

I think it's clear who/what Mona and Affandi truly were.

Heroes? Clearly not. No reason to be grateful.
How were these previous victims found after Datuk Mazlan's murder?

After Mona and Affandi were caught, police started investigation. Apparently the husband of the Klang woman remembered that his wife met Mona and Affandi a couple of times before she vanished. The wife vanished
while the husband was waiting for her in the car after she went to a shop to buy stuff. She never did get into the car.

The husband reported it to the police after Mona and Affandi became the headlines of news media about a year after her disappearance.
So was the case of the Chinese family. The couple were seen getting close to Mona and Affandi before vanishing, according to witnesses. Investigation pointed the police to where the bodies were buried. IIRC, the remains of their baby were never found.
Those who vanished were never seen again.
