Phew, it's 10.42am and I have had my fill of Germans Are Shit on Twitter! Going to try something different! Germans are generous and hospitable! A neighbour of a friend handed a massive homemade Torte out the window yesterday, for us to eat. No reason. Just cake!

On the weekend we had friends over to BBQ. They came with plenty of wine and a massive vintage map of Australia. No reason but they thought of me when they saw it.

Today, frazzled and forgetful, I forgot to put my mask on at kindy drop off. No one said anything to me! Everyone laughed with me when I realised and it was a lovely moment!

I've never been to a (German!) family meal and come home without leftovers, plied with grog and good food. Extraordinary!

My tennis Verein (I know, Crazy Germans and Their Clubs) has an unofficial leader who makes sure the fridge stays stocked with Prosecco and, if it isn't, brings enough for us all to have a drink. Out of her own pocket! I know!

I mean I know Germans are all terribly rude and cold and give abysmal customer service and always tell you what to do and are utterly ungenerous ... but feel free to drop in something positive if you've ever (ever ...) met a Nice German!
