After over 20 years of telling every doctor I've ever had "I have ADHD" - and having it be ignored - the Dr. I found this year said "Hey, let's assess you - yep - ok, here's Concerta!"

I started taking it on my birthday last month, and it has been life-changing. 1/ https://twitter.com/KikiDoodleTweet/status/1301377444516040711
I mean, as soon as it hit I could suddenly focus without all of the vast array of tools I'd accrued in FOURTY-FOUR years of coping.

My brain just WORKED. On one channel. And I could get interrupted and turn right back around and pick up where I left off. 2/
My amazing Dr. decided to assess my 16 yr. old, too. He filled out the assessment forms tonight, and scored higher than I did.

And that's how I found myself telling the very shocked secretary, who called to confirm his appointment, 3/
"I'm sending you these forms right now! And I can't wait for my kid to go on drugs! I'm so excited he can do drugs too!"

Which admittedly sounds bad out of context and also made her laugh so hard she had to hang up, but it's accurate. 4/
The medication doesn't cause a high for me.

The high comes from realizing that I've played life on Difficult Mode for 44 years, and somebody just turned on Cheat Mode!

And knowing my son will not have to hurt like I did for so long makes me joyful. <3
