Blasphemy and heresy are the two tools of any religion that is missionary in nature. Abrahamic religions have used these to control power over centuries. Hinduism does not have any such concepts because it is not a proselytizing religion.
1/11
Abrahamic religion, by definition, is a monotheistic religion tracing origins from Abraham and his sons. All such religions have mentioned a single one true God and condemned idolatry and polytheistic concepts. 2/11
For example, Old Testament in Judaism speaks Yahweh as the only one True God and describes idols as nothing more than useless objects
3/11
Christianity also mentions only one true God and describes that an idol is nothing in the world, in Corinthians 8:4 of the Bible
4/11
Same thing is also seen in Islam from the Quranic verse, where Allah is the one true God
5/11
Now, the first goal of a missionary religion is to preach that the "pagan" worship by the people to be converted is misleading and the religion to be preached has the one true God. The next thing is to stop people from criticizing the religion by criminalizing blasphemy
6/11
Blasphemy has been severely punishable in most of the Abrahamic religions. A number of Islamic countries have blasphemy punishment of death. Leviticus 24:13-16 describes stoning and death to a blasphemer
7/11
Heresy is the other tool of a missionary religion. It means preaching a different choice from the current views which is a taboo in Abrahamic religions. Hinduism has no such concept. It has had Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism developed over centuries as alternate religions
8/11
Christianity and Islam are replete with examples of punishment for heresy. In 1545, thousands of Protestants were killed in the Merindol massacre in France. Closer home, the killing of Bhai Dayala by Mughals in 1675 come to mind

On contrary, even when Hinduism has any concept that may remotely be called blasphemy, they are mostly against Dharma and not against God and does not have any scriptural sanction of any punishment. Hinduism never had the need to deal with blasphemy and heresy. And because
10/11
it never was designed as an organized religion, it was universal from the beginning and had enough appeal to accommodate all different sorts of ideas, practices and beliefs, making Hinduism truly more a way of life than a religion in the Abrahamic definitions
