okay so you dont ever understand exactly how terrible opression js until you are the one being opressed
my dad raised me to be kind to any race but when it comes to a story about a black man being acousted by an officer he just says "they need to just comply" even though the officer is taking away some of their basic rights as a human at that moment in time
another example is being a part of the lgbtq+ community and growing up in a society where straight is the default, as a little girl i was told "when you get a boyfriend" "when you get married your husband..." it was so hard to un-brainwash myself
as a guy, my friend never understood how nervous i was around other guys i didnt know well and how i was always really scared of having guy friends because they usually ended up trying to push the boundaries
basically all of this is to say, stop being close monded people and listen to other people's stories and try to understand that we arent just gonna sit back and "comply" because i am not gonna ask anyone else to give up their equal rights because they are a white straight male
