If you are from Telugu states and are buying into this 'Hindi imposition' crap, I will judge you. You are mostly a hypocrite who doesn't care about Telugu. You think you do but you don't understand the issue in depth.1/n
Having words like kaburu, bazaaru, taareeku in your daily vocabulary is not problematic for you? And words like schoolu, officu are not. But learning a language that does not corrupt your own is a problem? 2/n
I am still looking for words that came from Hindi to Telugu. Searching hard. Some that come to me are words like 'sangeet'(the sangeet ritual borrowed from north india during weddings). We all know why don't we? Or do we? 3/n
Words cannot come from Hindi because such words have base in Samskritam/Prakrit and travel differently. like
ईंट - ఇటుక and ऊंट - ఒంటె . see the similarity? So Hindi can never ruin our language. Never. 4/n
But the language that is really doing the damage to Telugu is the one I am writing in. And no one has problems with it? Most native vocabulary is getting lost and instead of fighting this, you want to fight an imaginary non-existent enemy? Quite a delusional state then. 5/n
Hindi provides the indic base. If not Hindi, it has to be Samskritam. Now don't pretend you are fighting for Hindu causes by fighting Hindi. If you can prove Hindi is eroding the regional language especially Telugu, I am all ears to know how 6/n
My Tamil friend's mother and I converse in Hindi since I don't know Tamil and she doesn't know Telugu. We both know Hindi and English. But to chat in an Indian context, Hindi is better! 7/n
Let us come back to imposition. The problem can be due to migrations. And is seen in big cities where the migrants don't want to learn the regional language. That is indeed an issue. And it is only limited to big cities. But not an issue in Telugu states. 8/n
Telugu states have one tier 1 city in Hyderabad. the name says it all. Hyderabadi dialect of Urdu is all over. debate ends. In Visakhapatnam, where there is lot of migrant population since generations there is no issue. People live in peace. So stop being defensive 9/n
Let us now come to schools. State govt follows 3 language formula. There can be changes there where Hindi can be taught for few years n Samskritam for few. Hindi in elementary school and Samskritam in High school? No one wants to try that? 10/n
Coming to schools following central syllabus, you have few options. 1. Don't send your kids there. 2. Central govt is already making amends to have regional language taught. If not, put pressure there. Fight for it. And let the kids learn all 3 languages. 11/n
Telugu states are known for being patriotic. National pledge and national flag were designed by Telugus. They fought for linguistic states but are not chauvinistic. Take the fight with English and save Telugu. Jai Hind. 12/n
