Been pretty against gender expectations ever since my parents wouldnt allow me to dress a certain way or participate in certain hobbies growing up cause im a girl
There was a period of my life in middle school when i started to take interest in metal and wear skinny jeans and band t shirts that my mom would tell me every morning that im just trying to look and sound like a boy and i need to go back to dressing "girly"
She would also lure me into her bathroom and try to make me wear makeup before i wanted to. I refused but eventually she just locked the door and forced me to put on lipstick before she would let me leave
I think her concern in the validity of my gender is why i explored looking more masculine a few years back, and if anything fueled my questioning and disdain for a lot of societal norms
