If it’s misogynistic for gay men to marry straight women to escape homophobic violence, can straight men also claim it’s misandristic for lesbian women to marry them in order to escape homophobic violence?

Is it misogynistic for African men in the global north to marry white women for green cards so they can be humanized and thus escape racial violence?

Is it misogynistic for poor/working class men to marry rich/upper class women in order to escape poverty and be able to access social amenities and infrastructure they ordinarily wouldn’t?

Asking these questions because I’m trying to interrogate why gay men marrying straight women elicits these visceral reactions while other kinds of “opportunistic” marriages don’t. Do we quantify & qualify some survival tactics as more immoral than others and by what metric?
