Psychiatrist mood check: My therapist said this abt me&I think it prob applies to a lot of u so sharing. When we experience high levels of stress over&over we THINK we r better at dealing w it,but we actually habituated to it emotionally AND physically. It manifests as burnout/zz
If we actually experienced it all at once, instead of a gradual increase we’d be like F NO. THIS IS TOO MUCH.

But, because it was gradual, it’s like stress exposure therapy...and we tolerate it until we r like “hey, why am I SO tired?”

Just work,advocacy,the pandemic, ALL LIFE
The good news,I’ve been told,is “once there is awareness, empowerment becomes possible”

Maybe we aren’t just “busy” and “tired” when people ask how we are but if we actually checked in w/ourselves we would say “I’m feeling checked out,is it possible this is what stress is?”
