Here's a thread of Black musical artists & their spawns or offspring in the music industry based on style, voice & singing ability, cadence & dance. Musical Family Tree...
JANET JACKSON
The woman, the myth, the legend... she birthed so many artists including males it's crazy. She birthed the quintessential female artists with average voices but great dance skills.

Offspring:
Aaliyah (birthed Ciara)
Britney Spears
TLC
Mya (birthed Teyana Taylor)
Janet Jackson

She obviously was influenced by the Jackson 5 particularly her older brother Michael Jackson.
You can see the influence with her offsprings.

Aaliyah
Britney Spears
TLC... were kind of messing around but you see the influence. Lol
Mya ...
Teyana Taylor...

You can see the obvious Janet & Michael influence...
The Legendary Charlie Wilson of the Gap Band..
Spawns of uncle Charlie Wilson imo are Keith Sweat & Aaron Hall who in returned birthed R. Kelly. Anyone who's older than 35 knows that Kellz didn't start rocking the bald head until Aaron Hall & his music was along the lines of both Hall & Keith Sweat. The beggar of sex.
Legendary R. Kelly in returned birthed Trey Songz... you can hear R. Kelly's influence & cadence in early Trey Songz music.
Trey Songz...

If you can hear the Kellz influence then you were definitely born after 95, not to mention later in Trey's career, most of his content revolved around sex, something R. Kelly specialized in.
Biggie Smalls... the greatest artist to ever come out of Brooklyn surprisingly influenced alot of artists.

Spawns:
Shyne
Guerilla Black
Rick Ross
Before getting locked up Shyne was a terrorist on the Mic, you can hear the influence in his cadence & rhyme scheme.
Guerilla Black was a damn carbon copy of B.I.G to the tee. Big, black, but from Compton. I remember being a kid & hearing him on the radio, I thought somebody did a posthumous song with Big. 😂
Some people may not agree but let's be honest, if it wasn't for Christopher Wallace's influence, Ross wouldn't be a fat sex symbol with his shirt off, plus the husky voice is eerily similar to Big. He's Biggie if he grew up in Miami.
Tupac Shakur

who was influenced by both Ice Cube & Scarface also has a few spawns imo. Tupac is best known for his lyricism, passion, socio & political content, hood struggle & his obsession with death just like predecessors Cube & Face.

Spawns:
DMX
Ja Rule
Lil Zane
DMX

people may not agree but the closest artist I've ever seen to Tupac was the pitbull himself DMX. He was a more brash & hardened version of Pac but delivered the same passion & pain in his lyrics. Same bald head too.
Ja Rule

Of course ppl will laugh at this but before his beef with 50, Ja Rule was a force to reckoned with in the game. His content wasn't the same but his cadence & rhyme scheme was reminiscent of Pac. On a few songs he delivered that thug passion. IYKYK...
Lil Zane

Most ppl under 25 don't remember Zane but older ones remember when he first came in the game, he but Pac's bars almost word for word & his cadence was the same.
Prince

Prince Rogers Nelson is probably the greatest & most talented musician period in the last 45 years. He wrote & produced all of his music while being able to play 27 instruments.

Predecessor: Rick James

Spawns:
D'Angelo
Maxwell
Lenny Kravitz
Bilal
First let's start with Bilal, out of all of Prince's spawns, he's THE most similar to Prince from his falsettos, cadence, vocal range, & the few instruments he played like the guitar. Listen to this masterpiece. đŸ”„
D'Angelo

Probably the most popular of the bunch, he also a Prince offspring, listen to the influence.
Maxwell

The most Falsetto'e of all the spawns on here, he could easily do a tribute for Prince.
Lenny Kravitz

He's the least similar out of the bunch but similar to Prince nonetheless, mimics his style, flamboyance, & can also play a number of instruments. He's closer to the Prince of the early & mid 80s when he incorporated rock into his music. Voice is similar as well.
