Okay I'm bored so Imma make a thread of Pokemon regional variations that I could think could happen if they ever made a region based on Mexico.

Starting off I think there could be a form of Vanillite based on Paletas.

Ice/Grass type (Grass bcuz of the fruit flavors)
A Sugar skull or a Dia de los Muertos themed Duskull would be sick!

Ghost/Fairy type
Poochyena/Mightyena variant based on the Xoloitzcuintle!

I believe there are some stories of Xoloitzcuintle being spirit guides and I think a variant should be more tame. Ghost/Normal type.
Regional variant of Mankey based on the Spider Monkey.

I think we could get away with a lankier Mexican Mankey being a pure Grass type
A Ghost/Water variant of Wooper!

I think it was cool how Galarian Corsola was a reference to Bleached Coral and how Climate Change is effecting coral. I think something similar could be done with Wooper and how endangered Axolotls are!
Volcarona variant based on the Mexican Tiger Moth. No reason reasoning for this I just think it looks cool.

Either pure Bug type or Bug/Grass type
A variant of Natu/Xatu based on the Quetzal! With its Psychic typing and Xatu known to stare at the sun, I think it would be cool if this variant evolved into a more snake-like bird version to reference Quetzalcoatl!

Psychic/Fire type
Cacnea/Cacturne variant as the Saguaro! They can grow to be much taller similar to Alolan Exeggutor. I think this could also work for a Gigantimax Cacturne.

Grass/Ground Type
a Frosslass variant based on La Llorona! Froslass is known to freeze men to death in icy mountains, but a Mexican variant could be known to haunt children near rivers.

Ghost/Water type for obvious reasons
these are all I can think of off the top of my head but I'd love to hear about more ideas for Mexican Pokemon! I hope we can get a Mexico region one day and it's represented like how Hawaii was with the Alola region and how Britain was with the Galar region!
can yall tell i like ghost types lmaooooo
