Dr Clayton Chau, Orange County Health Officer and Director, received his Clinical Psychology Ph.D. from Chelsea University.

The problem- Chelsea University is a degree mill. “It has never been recognized as a university with UK degree awarding powers.” https://twitter.com/inminivanhell/status/1301588137425006592
In Texas, they list colleges that are known for fraudulent degrees and it is a misdemeanor in their state to use that fraudulent degree for employment.

Wonder if California has a similar law?

Diploma mills are institutions that issue illegitimate degrees w/little or no academic work. For a price, they often just take into account relevant life experience.

Did Dr Chau deceive OC into believing he had a Ph.D. to get hired for a job he was not qualified for?
@VoiceofOC
Dr Chau’s life story is heartbreaking. He is a survivor and I applaud him for his successes and for being open about his past.

However, my concern is he did horrible in medical school, then bought a Ph.D. to inflate his resume to get hired for jobs he was not qualified for.
