Every third box-kick is short, i.e. it's fielded or regathered in the same or neighbouring zone. @bathrugby leads the @premrugby with 44%, but @LeicesterTigers recorded the most short box-kicks in the #PremRugby (53; 🛁 36).

Interestingly, short kicks do not necessary lead to aerial contests. The relationship between short kicks and retention rate is much stronger (corr = 0.579). Not surprisingly, aerial contests are highly correlated with retention rate (0.689).
