It’s outrageous that the Secretary General of parliament receives 5000 MVR as a phone allowance! While the majority of the population receives the same as their Gross Salary...

The same amount one person spends on their phone; another person pays their Electricity, Water, Food, Phone & Rent with. How damn outrageous is that. It would take the average Maldivian to save their entire salary for 7+ months, to have the same amount the SG makes per month...

I’m disappointed. I’m frustrated and I’m angry. When I think that right now someone is looking at their 5000MRF Gross Salary and wondering how many meals to skip or deciding between essentials or bills...

I’m angry that someone out there looks at a 20MRF bottle of Coca Cola and considers it an unaffordable luxury while the SG could buy 250 of the same with only their phone allowance!!!

So Dear @MickailNaseem, what are the measures you will take, as the parliament member WE elected to represent US. To put a stop to these ridiculous use of money. Money that we, the tax payers, pay!
