Thank you to the hardworking unions who keep our economy strong and protect working people. I want to thank @CaliforniaLabor & @LALabor for always being a partner in implementing laws to support working families.
Our public schools have incredible union teachers and faculty. In fact, my husband is a proud member of @CFA_News at @CSULB. This year especially, I’m grateful to @TALB_teachers, and the faculty at @LBCityCollege.

These amazing educators are building our future.
As Mayor, I proposed and implemented one of the first citywide project labor agreements in the state w/ @LAOC_BTrades. It ensures quality construction and good paying jobs.

And we worked with @UFCW to support their contracts and unionize our local cannabis dispensary workers.
In the last few years we’ve supported efforts to unionize more hotels and our convention center. It’s thanks to the members of @UNITEHERE11.

I stand with @CalNurses who are on the frontlines of our COVID19 crisis and fighting for Medicare for All. Healthcare is a human right.
At @metrolosangeles and @lbtransit we continue to work to support our transit and construction unions. We can support labor and become more sustainable and fight climate change.

And a huge thank you to all our city employee unions who work everyday for their members and city.
And our country would not be as strong without the heroic work of our port workers, especially the @ILWU and our @Teamsters truck drivers.

They and the construction trades are building and growing America’s ports.
And I will always support @SEIU_uhw, my mom’s union. She helped organize at her work before she passed. And to all the other @SEIU locals, thank you for your service.

All of the progress on this thread was possible because of the workers. They get full credit. Happy Labor Day.
