i think i'm a bit late with this discussion but i wanted to make this thread  since i'm seeing some people who still don't  fully understand the whole thing about  daisuke " not saving " chosuke and takei —
let's get into it from haru's point of view. we see the hurt, anger and frustration he that he feels when he blames daisuke.

daisuke "abandoned" chosuke and takei. or at least, that's what it looks like to haru, but we need to take into account a few scenes.
first, this scene where takei has a meltdown, and suzue suggests raising the security levels. chosuke blatantly counters by saying 'no, do the opposite. keep security thin', which is him basically telling them to 'let the culprit come'.
second, this scene of chosuke and daisuke eating. daisuke asks chosuke about haru's whereabouts, to which he replies that he sent him out on an errand. while it just looks like a transition scene of some sort, it still has to be there for a reason.
it shows that daisuke and chosuke have spent alone time together, meaning that they've had instances in which they could have already discussed the case, as well as planned things without the presence of haru.
considering this scene as well .. the way chosuke expressed how he didn't think they were after the same thing, already implies how they're going to begin working together ( specifically the two of them, regardless of the help from both haru and suzue ).
following the "the dice is a tracker" theory ( best explained by angela in this thread below ), we can assume that the dice was developed over the time that daisuke and chosuke were planning on how to continue going about the case. https://twitter.com/thekyoyaagenda/status/1301611485823733762?s=19
what i'm trying to get at is that ! more than chosuke being prepared to die, daisuke most probably knew this as well. he knew chosuke would sacrifice himself for the case, if it had to come to that point. it was part of the plan, meaning that daisuke did Not abandon them.
( i'm saying " them " because i'm pretty sure that chosuke had told daisuke to leave takei to him, and in the end we did see chosuke urging takei to escape, but takei himself chose to stay in the end ily king )
