I feel so sorry for everyone that got lower results than expected in the leaving cert. you’re all still great. But please don’t start bad mouthing plcs and plc graduates. Plcs are great. You get so much more practical experience and get to actually know the people in your class
It’s a cheaper way to figure out if the course is what you want it to be or not. They’re great places for creativity because you get to do any project you want within the first few months. It’s not nearly as bad as people make it out to be
I done a two year journalism course in BCFE and within the first two months we were out reporting at events and on court cases. We were writing our own articles and learning the layout of newspapers. We made our own website in second year which was nominated for a smedia award
As a person with social anxiety/phobias it was such a nice place to be. Rather than being in a class of 200 and barely getting to know anyone I was in a class of 8-15 and got to know everyone so well and we all had so much fun
Plcs are great if you have anxiety. They help you settle in and you get to know people so much easier. You get one on one time with your lecturers which helps better your skills and the overall vibes are always chill on campus.
Don’t listen to people that say PLCs are bad. They’re not. Theyre incredibly informational, practical, and educational. They ARE real colleges. You ARE getting an education. You are NOT a stereotype and you will be successful in your field after doing a PLC
I know you may not have gotten the results you wanted but that doesn’t mean you get to look down on people to do/have done plcs. Same with people who did get enough points to do their course. You don’t get to make people feel bad for getting an education.
