I think I& #39;m making dramatis fursonae as grand as I want. I wanted to hold back on character counts and that to the point I was considering abandoning fursonas to make it more manageable, but

It& #39;s not going to get commercial release likely anyway.
I might convert it format-wise into a text adventure if need be. I will probably have major scenes with no art. That& #39;s just how life is.
The reality is, to have something like an Echo Project game in terms of polish and asset count, there needs to be a lot of money and a dedicated team for art, and I can& #39;t guarantee either. Quite frankly, I& #39;m a uni student still.
Dramatis Fursonae is a hobby, not a breakin to game dev. I made a deliberately uncommercial premise to do whatever the fuck indulgences I wanted freely.

Is this about an all-trans cast of furries performing Shakespeare and learning about who they are as people? Yes.
I kinda resent capitalism for making me think that I had to immediately monetise this and that was the only valid way. Fuck that.
fuck it, get fursonas just because I like an animal, not having to worry about narrative grandeur. That& #39;s a reason I was led to resent sonas that I just liked for being cute. Cute is valid. Not everything needs to exist to build arcs.
there was self-inflicted pressure I had that I needed to make this a formal project because nobody else was making this kind of cast and representation the centre of their VN
This thread isn& #39;t me saying never to this either. If I finish the plot and I manage to make something people think is possible to sell, I& #39;d consider. But I& #39;m not guaranteeing that. For all I know, I might just make silly nonsense for an audience of 1.
This is kinda art therapy. Not in a "I need to bare my heart and soul out" way, but more a reflective way. There& #39;s something about that I don& #39;t want to have to sacrifice to make a product.
The other thing is, for visual novels I might release, I have a different concept...

I might do really small chunks - for my echo project mutuals, think the size of an update - and make short story projects.
